TurboGetPrivacy Policy
Applies to the TurboGet app (macOS, Windows), the TurboGet browser extension, the license service and this website. Last updated: September 30, 2026.
Summary
TurboGet does not sell or share your personal data and contains no advertising or tracking. Your downloads and download history stay on your computer. We keep only the minimum needed to deliver and protect your license.
Browser extension
- The extension detects media and downloadable files on the page you are viewing (their addresses, file type and size) and, when you ask it to, sends them to the TurboGet app on your computer through a local connection (127.0.0.1) or the browser's native messaging.
- To download files that require you to be signed in, it reads the cookies of that site and passes them only to the local TurboGet app. They are never sent to us or to any other server.
- The list of detected media and your extension options are stored locally in your browser.
- The extension contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and does not load remote code.
TurboGet app
- Downloads go directly from the website you chose to your computer. Download history stays on your computer.
- When checking for updates, the app sends the update server its version number, update channel (stable or beta) and a random installation identifier that is hashed and contains no hardware or personal information. This is used only to roll out updates gradually.
- Diagnostic files are created only when you click “Export Diagnostics”, are saved on your computer, and have cookies and full download addresses removed. They are shared only if you choose to send them to us.
Purchases and licenses
- Payments are handled by our payment providers: Afdian (afdian.com, for payments in mainland China) and Creem (creem.io, which acts as the merchant of record for international payments). We never see or store your card or bank details. The providers process your payment information under their own privacy policies.
- What the license service stores: your license ID, a one-way hash of your license key, purchase date and update period, the payment provider's order number, the email address you gave the payment provider (if it passes one to us), and for each activated computer a device identifier, the computer name, the platform (macOS or Windows), and the activation and last-seen times.
- Device identifier: a salted one-way hash of your computer's hardware ID. It cannot be turned back into the hardware ID and is used only to bind your license to your computers, to enforce the device limit and to keep free trials to one per computer.
- When the app contacts the license service: when you activate or unlink a computer, about once every 7 days to check that the license is still valid, once when a free trial starts, and while waiting for a purchase to complete.
- The license service runs on Cloudflare. We use this data only to deliver licenses, prevent abuse, handle refunds and answer your support requests.
This website
This website does not use cookies or analytics. It stores your language choice in your browser only.
Retention and your rights
We keep license records while your license exists and as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data by emailing [email protected]. Deleting license records ends your ability to activate or restore that license.

If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Important changes will also be announced on this website.
